On May 13th, the Party branch of Qingdao Company carried out a theme education activity. Under the leadership of the branch secretary Ge Fusheng, party members went to Liugong Island in Weihai to deeply study and understand the history of the Sino Japanese War.

      After a morning's drive, the party members arrived in Weihai at noon, had a simple meal, and then went to the dock together. On the dock, there are crowds of people, and many tourists are waiting to enter Liugong Island. With a whistle, the ferry gradually moved away from the shore and headed towards Liugong Island.

       20 minutes later, everyone set foot on the land of Liugong Island. Nowadays, the scenery of Liugong Island is picturesque, with crowds of tourists and a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. However, in the year of the First Sino Japanese War 129 years ago, a naval battle that could change the fate of China occurred here. In the end, the Beiyang Fleet was defeated, leading to the humiliating signing of the Treaty of Shimonoseki by China. The degree of semi colonization further deepened, and the crisis of the Chinese nation became increasingly severe.

       Under the guidance of the tour guide, the party members visited the exhibition hall of the China First Sino Japanese War Museum together. This is a comprehensive exhibition hall showcasing the history of the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895. Through various means such as precious historical images, scene restoration, 3D film and television, sound, light, electricity, and multimedia composite, vivid displays of war scenes such as the Yellow Sea War and the Weihaiwei Defense War are presented, reproducing the heroic scenes of the Beiyang Navy's resistance against Japanese aggressors, and demonstrating the noble patriotic spirit of naval officers and soldiers represented by Deng Shichang who fought bravely.

       After visiting the exhibition hall, everyone also visited attractions such as the Beiyang Naval Admiral's Office and the Liugong Island Expo Park, gaining a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of Liugong Island, a "unsinkable warship" suspended on the coast of the Yellow Sea. Party members expressed that through this trip to Liu Gong Island, they deeply felt that only when the country is strong enough can the people have a peaceful and peaceful life.

       Party branch secretary Ge Fusheng stated that history is a mirror, and today China is undergoing a great transformation unseen in a century, with a complex and ever-changing international situation. As party members, we should bear in mind the lessons of history, firmly maintain our political stance and ideal beliefs, love our country and the party, do our best to do our job well, and contribute to the healthy development of the enterprise and the great rejuvenation of the nation!
