On November 30th, the annual meeting of the group was held in Beijing. This annual meeting is not only a work summary meeting for 2024, but also a work direction guidance meeting for 2025. Faced with various problems in the process of enterprise operation, we need to timely summarize, carefully analyze, formulate strategies, and bravely break through. Annual Meeting - Consolidating Consensus and Overcoming Difficulties

 

On the afternoon of November 30th, the Hilton Garden Inn Yanqing in Beijing successfully held the 2024 work summary and 2025 work direction guidance meeting of the group. More than 200 people attended the meeting, including Chairman Jian Shixin, Executive Vice President Gai Shu'e, General Managers of Operations and Marketing in various regions, heads of various centers, functional department heads, regional/district managers, and some major project managers.

 

 

The theme of this conference is "How to Correctly Understand the Current Market Environment and Adapt to Market Changes." At the conference, Zhang Chenglong, the General Manager of Beijing Region, analyzed the severe market and operational situation faced by the group meal industry, allowing attendees to have a further understanding of the current industry situation, market difficulties, and operational challenges.

Zhang Lei, the manager of the management center, reported the operating performance of the group in 2024, using intuitive data such as revenue, profit and loss, and salary to make everyone more deeply feel the development difficulties faced by the group at present.

Xie Shuifu, Director of the System Security Center, explained the changes and development trends of the current new catering industry, and analyzed them from the perspectives of quality upgrading, technological empowerment, healthy catering, and green catering.

Ke Jianzhuo, General Manager of Gu Xiangyuan Supply Chain Company, focused on sharing some efficiency improving and cost reducing products, providing solutions for achieving high-quality restaurant operations from the perspective of coordinated development and win-win cooperation between catering and supply chain.

 

 

In response to the report, the group leaders provided comments, with a focus on the following aspects:

 

1、 Have the courage to break through conventional thinking

As a manager, one should not be trapped in ideological barriers and hesitate everywhere. One should dare to break through rigid thinking and take achieving high-quality project operation as the highest criterion. On the one hand, we need to recognize that we are facing a constantly changing market. Don't dwell on the past, let alone hope for the future. What we can do is to seize the present and ensure the operational effectiveness of the project every day. On the other hand, for poorly managed projects, they cannot be constrained by factors such as experience and personal relationships. It is necessary to make decisive personnel adjustments, boldly hire new personnel, resolutely reverse the business downturn, and improve management and service levels.

 

2、 Have the courage to proactively embrace challenges

If a person stays in their comfort zone for too long, they will develop laziness. We have served the highest end customers in the industry and enjoyed the superior conditions brought by them. Over time, some managers and employees lack the spirit of hard work and perseverance, and the motivation to move forward. We should see that there are still many difficult and challenging jobs in this society, and the working environment and conditions faced by practitioners are much more difficult than ours, and the tasks they undertake are much heavier than ours. We should be grateful for the platform provided by our customers and company, abandon the idea of comfort and ease, and strive to pursue higher goals and create better performance.

 

 

3、 Have a solid determination to solve problems

From the various data reported by the management center, it can be seen that there are significant operational issues with some of our projects, especially those that are operating at a loss. As a manager, one should not only accomplish great things, but also be able to do small things. Some managers feel that they are superior and delegate everything to subordinates, which leads to ineffective management; Some managers only discipline employees and never seriously study the problem. The company's systems and standards are readily available, and the advanced experience and practices of Brother Restaurant can be learned at any time. What needs to be done is to calm down, immerse oneself in research, analyze, and solve problems. Only by solidly promoting refined management can the group move forward healthily and steadily.

 

4、 Have the courage to take the lead and try first

Faced with the current development difficulties, we can no longer be content with the status quo. We must break through the existing operating model, try new solutions, and take the lead. Group meals have a "one body, two wings" relationship with supply chain and information technology. Without these two "wings", it is difficult for the main business of group meals to achieve high-quality and sustainable development. In the past few years, we have been strengthening the construction of supply chain and information technology. To achieve breakthroughs, we must continue to make efforts in these two areas. The group will establish a smart group meal working group to promote the application of intelligent and digital equipment, while increasing the linkage between the supply chain and operation departments to further reduce costs and increase efficiency.

 

 

Chairman Jian Shixin gave a concluding speech at the end of the meeting, stating that in 2024, under the influence of the economic downturn, it will be difficult for us to stand alone. The overall environment is immutable, and only ourselves can be changed. Confidence is more important than gold, and we must seek breakthroughs and development in difficult situations. In the speech, the chairman emphasized the need for management personnel to enhance four "consciousnesses":

 

1、 Enhance crisis awareness

Born in distress, died in peace. Statistics show that in 2024, over 2 million enterprises in China's catering industry will go bankrupt, and the situation is severe. At the same time, some group meal peers are also facing business difficulties, and the group has encountered the most severe development obstacles in recent years, with revenue growth being the slowest in years. The reason why we held the annual meeting at the end of November this year is because we have recognized the severity of the situation, smelled the smell of crisis, and must take corrective measures as soon as possible to address the problems. Amidst the storms and the survival of the fittest, we must convey a sense of crisis to every employee. We must not be blindly optimistic, but must adopt the spirit of shaving our bones and healing our wounds, and overcome all difficulties. Only by concentrating and making changes, seeking benefits from management, can enterprises seize opportunities in crisis and live healthily.

 

2、 Enhance the overall awareness of the big picture

An enterprise is a ship that requires close cooperation and joint efforts from everyone in order to achieve stability and long-term success. At present, in the difficult period of group development, it is particularly necessary for management personnel to enhance their overall awareness and global consciousness. However, some of our managers have poor work performance and always like to find objective reasons to push problems onto customers; Some market personnel have poor market development performance and are accustomed to blaming the overall environment for the reasons; Some managers like to settle small accounts, have a short-sighted and narrow perspective, are satisfied with low goals, and lack the courage to strive for higher goals. Some managers feel that they have been in the company for a long time, and they like to show off their "old qualifications". Although group meals are a traditional industry, we cannot follow the old path and must innovate. The advanced experience of international peers' development has taught us that in order to make group meals bigger and stronger, we must do a good job in supply chain and information construction, promote the use of clean vegetables and semi-finished products, and vigorously use intelligent equipment. Only in this way can we improve labor productivity, build industry barriers, and distance ourselves from peers. Managers must liberate their minds, embrace change, actively pay attention to industry development trends such as smart group meals, healthy group meals, and ecological group meals, and meet the diverse and personalized needs of customers. At the same time, based on this, the group will actively promote integration and mergers and acquisitions, and make every effort to build a platform based company. Only in this way can we achieve the development plan of the group for the next five years and promote high-quality development of the enterprise.

 

The recommended director stated that 2024 is a year of constant challenges and difficult progress, and 2025 may encounter even greater challenges. Team Building Chapter - Expanding Knowledge and Touching Thoughts

 

Before and after the meeting, the group also specially organized participants to visit the CPC History Exhibition Hall, climb the Badaling Great Wall, and go to Haituo Mountain, where the Yanqing competition area of the Beijing Winter Olympics is located, to punch in the mirror of the sky, and guide everyone to relax, broaden their knowledge, and touch their minds in the construction of the group.

 

The History Exhibition Hall of the CPC, affiliated to the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, is a special memorial hall for the history of the party in social sciences. The exhibition hall covers an area of 147000 square meters and is divided into four parts. Through more than 2600 pictures and more than 3500 sets of cultural relics, it shows the glorious history of the CPC for one hundred years in an all-round, whole process, panoramic and epic way.

 

 

On the afternoon of November 29th, the attendees entered the museum with solemn reverence. Over the course of more than two hours, everyone followed the course of time, walking, watching, and discussing. Through the photos, sealed letters, and physical objects, we saw young and fresh lives, groups of Chinese people who died for national liberation and national construction, and also saw the great course of the CPC's pioneering and indomitable struggle. Everyone's heart was deeply touched, and we deeply realized that the red regime was hard won, the new China was hard won, and socialism with Chinese characteristics was hard won.

 

The Badaling Great Wall is located at the northern entrance of the Jundushan Guangou Ancient Road in Yanqing District, Beijing, with a tourist area of 1.19 million square meters. It is an important part of the great defense project of the ancient Chinese Great Wall, a pass of the Ming Great Wall, and an important outpost of the Juyong Pass. In ancient times, it was called "the danger of Juyong is not at the pass, but at Badaling".

 

On the morning of November 30th, everyone arrived at the foot of the Great Wall and began hiking. During the climbing process, everyone walked together, encouraged each other, stepped up one step after another, passed through one stack after another, although everyone was panting and sweating profusely, no one gave up, and they agreed to meet at the summit together. After an hour of climbing, everyone successfully reached the highest point. Looking into the distance, the Great Wall winds its way along the mountain ridges, which is truly magnificent, and one cannot help but marvel at the wisdom and strength of ancient people.

 

 

Haituo Mountain, located at an altitude of more than 2000 meters in the northwest of Yanqing District, Beijing, is one of the top ten "non famous" mountains selected by Chinese National Geography, and is also the core area of the Yanqing competition area of the Beijing Winter Olympics. During the Winter Olympics, this place hosted competitions in alpine skiing, bobsleigh, and luge events.

 

On the morning of December 1st, everyone arrived at Haituo Mountain and took a cable car from the bottom to the top, crossing an altitude of over 2000 meters. The infrastructure along the way was very complete, which can be imagined the hardships and difficulties of the original construction. It is precisely because of the efforts of countless people that today we are able to easily climb onto the Shanghai Tuoshan Scenic Platform, check in at the "Mirror of the Sky", and appreciate the stunning scenery.

 

The implementation of team building activities has broadened everyone's horizons, increased their knowledge, and enhanced their confidence and courage in the face of difficulties.
